Where I'd grab a drink

by Jordan Dunn | Apr 28, 2023

I'm not much of one for loud or crowded bars. I prefer to relax and enjoy the smooth flavors of a unique drink. These are my favorite spots for a casual cocktail with my wife or a friend.

1. Old Glory

An underground speakeasy feel, exposed brick walls, and dim candlelit atmosphere - Old Glory is a mainstay. There's a live DJ on Fridays that gets this place hyped up, but I prefer the chill vibes you get on other nights. Try the whiskey sour.

2. Pinewood Social

Pinewood has it all, and their bar is no exception. I recommend sitting in one of the lounge areas. Give the "Artistic Differences" cocktail a try.

3. Greenhouse Bar

Sometimes you need a drink somewhere that takes itself less seriously - that's Greenhouse. Full of plants and casual conversation. Grab a local beer like Yazoo's Gerst Amber Ale or try the "Nashville Old Fashioned."

4. The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club

A quiet and humble spot in East Nashville, The Fox Bar has the chillest vibes of any bar in Nashville. Perfect for a night cap. The "Espresso Martini" will make your eyes water.

5. Fable Lounge

The best mixologists in Nashville work at Fable Lounge, and they wait on you hand and foot. Perfect for a relaxing drink in an eclectic dark atmosphere. Try the "Black Widow."

6. Bastion

Located in historic Wedgewood-Houston, Bastion is one of the louder bars on this list, but great nonetheless. It's a great place to hang with big groups thanks to its open concept. Their "West of Western" never disappoints.
